First business venture | 2009/10
In early 2009, I saw potential to redevelop a 2500 sq. ft. retail space referred to as The French Pharmacie, in a popular art village community referred to as Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, IN. My concept was to create an “affordable luxury day spa” for men and women in a modern minimalist design esthetic. Services included hair, skin, massage, nails, and beauty retail.
First choice in partners was Philip Salmon, a long time friend and a guru at hair and makeup, and a highly successful owner of The Blue House, a high-end coiffure in Indianapolis. The business was acquired in March 2009 and launched as THE SPA at French Pharmacie, two months later. Though Phil and I have since sold the business, it continues to flourish under new ownership.
